The Canada UK Sustainable Building Network (CUKSBN) is a virtual network, seeking solutions to challenges we face in the Canadian and British green building sectors.  The network encourages both academia and industry from both nations to collaborate and find solutions to these challenges, while encouraging two-way trade and investment opportunities.

Canada and the UK both strive to construct sustainable buildings and sustainable cities; to reduce CO2 emissions and to improve the quality of life for those whom inhabit them.  Innovation is central to these efforts, and independently both Canada and the UK have successfully brought forward innovation to build greener and more sustainable developments.

In many ways, Canada and the UK share common goals. Our industry, our governments and our academic institutions are already collaborating on green and sustainable developments both at home and in other markets.

With so much in common, the CUKSBN was first launched in London, UK during Ecobuild 2014 by UK Green Building Council CEO Paul King and Canada Green Building Council President Thomas Mueller.  The Network was then launched in Toronto, Canada at the 2014 CaGBC National Conference by British Consul General Jonathan Dart and Canadian Trade Commissioner Jason Kee.

The Network was established to build on existing and foster new relationships between Canadian and British industry, academia and government on sustainability issues in the built environment. The new website will allow knowledge sharing of best practices between Canada and the UK while helping to develop and strengthen trade and investment links.
